Beautiful Dust

"Somewhere in my dust heap there's a richness." – John Steinbeck

The King’s Command

Mark 12:28-34

Hear, O Israel, what the Lord your God expects of you

The fullness of law is a generosity transcending prohibition.

Directing the currents of love

Into the deep veins of your soul,

Teaching you to kneel on the inside.

Hear, O Israel, you do not love as you should

Do you know Him who shows you his love?

The Lord your God, the Lord is one.

O that you could delight in the delight of the Father

For his fearfully, wonderfully made children.

Hear, O Israel, you have been liberated by love enfleshed.

For you, with you, the Lord of your soul speaks:

You are fully known, fully loved.

Drink deeply from the well-spring

Pour out upon the earth.
